Before you install

The publisher warning, explained honestly

Not signed yet

What Windows will say

This build is not code-signed. There is no publisher certificate behind it yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” and names the publisher as unknown. That is Windows telling you the truth about this file: it does not recognise who published it.

We are not going to describe clicking past a Windows security warning as the normal way to install software. It is a habit worth keeping, not one worth training out of people.

The reliable way to satisfy yourself

Compare the file’s checksum with the one published above. If they match, the file you have is byte-for-byte the file we built.

In PowerShell:

Get-FileHash MyPcDoctor-Setup-1.22.0-x64.exe

The easiest way

Let the computer shop that supports your PC install it. A shop install avoids the warning for the customer entirely, and the PC is registered to that shop at the same time — which is how the engineer features start working.

For dealers and service centres

“Your organisation used Smart App Control to block this file”

That is a different message, and a stricter one: Smart App Control, not SmartScreen. It has no override button at all, so there is nothing to click past. On a PC where it is on, an unsigned installer simply will not run until the app is signed.

The honest position: a code-signing certificate is a production risk we have not yet closed. Until it is, this page will not claim a verified or trusted publisher.

What’s new

Release notes

What changed for the person using the PC, one line per release. A release that only fixed one crash says so.

  1. 1.22.0a new Software Updates page. It tells you when a program on your PC has a published security fix you do not have yet, which version has the fix, and what to do — starting with PHP2Shell, the October 2026 PHP flaw that matters on any PC running XAMPP, WAMP or Laragon. The list comes from My PC Doctor and grows as new fixes are published; nothing about your programs is sent anywhere, and the app never downloads or installs anything itself. Also: this release carries the latest security fixes for the libraries the app is built on.
  2. 1.21.2activating with a key on a PC that was set up offline now shows the privacy notice right there - what is sent, what never leaves the PC, and a link to the full policy - with an Agree and Activate button, instead of an error asking you to accept a notice it did not show.
  3. 1.21.1on a PC that was registered offline, the Dashboard's licence card now says Not Activated and its Activate Now button opens the activation-key step, instead of waiting for a licence that could never arrive.
  4. 1.21.0a new, compact Dashboard. The first screen now answers three things at once: how your PC is doing (from its last real check, with when it ran), whether your My PC Doctor licence is active and until when, and a Check My PC button. Below it, small tiles for storage, memory, protection, Windows, graphics, network and battery, each opening its own page, and a short list of anything that actually needs attention. Nothing on it is a made-up score or a sample date.
  5. 1.20.0a free month for anyone, with the free key MPCD-FREE-MONTH: activate with it, then verify your email or your WhatsApp number — either one — and the PC is covered for a month (a PC that already had a free year keeps it; a shop’s own key keeps its own length). The Dashboard now also says which programs are filling your memory, the five largest with how much each holds, read only when you open it and never sent anywhere. And the Shield gets one board that answers “where do I stand” across all nine security pages, with a timeline of what happened when.
Older releases (25)
  1. 1.19.1every PC is now activated with a key from the computer shop that sold or services it. The key is free — ask your engineer, or write to contact@bb-ai.in — and it says how long the PC is covered. PCs already activated are unaffected.
  2. 1.19.0four new security pages, and one place to look at them. Application Trust lists everything installed on the PC with who signed it — and says plainly when a program simply cannot be checked, rather than implying anything about it. Ransomware Shield shows whether Windows is guarding your Documents, Pictures and Desktop folders, and what it has stopped; when it stops a billing or accounting program you use, the page tells you how to allow it through. Security Centre puts everything the app has found in one list, showing only what somebody actually has to decide about — and remembers what you set aside. None of it scans anything itself: Microsoft Defender does that, and only Defender ever calls something a virus.
  3. 1.18.0the security side of the app, in one release. Smart Firewall explains Windows Firewall in plain words and remembers what you have already allowed, so a billing or accounting program is not asked about twice. Web Shield checks a web address before you open it and a downloaded file before you run it — its publisher, signature and checksum, and where Windows recorded it coming from. USB Shield shows what is plugged in, whether this PC has used it before, and what shape a pen drive’s contents are, then runs Microsoft Defender’s own scan of it when you press the button. None of it scans anything itself, none of it runs in the background, and nothing on a drive is deleted or formatted.
  4. 1.17.0installs on PCs that do not let programs run from their temporary folder, where the installer used to stop with “Error 5: Access is denied”.
  5. 1.16.1fixed the Drivers page, which on a PC with a device Windows reports a problem with put a stack of “Something went wrong” boxes over the window.
  6. 1.16.0the Dashboard says which antivirus this PC has and whether it is switched on, and a new Complete Protection page lists everything Windows already has to protect it, with what each one stops, and switches on what is off after Windows asks your permission.
  7. 1.15.0your engineer can be given to this PC after it is set up: My Engineer shows their name, Call and WhatsApp as soon as your shop assigns one, and a Check again button asks straight away.
  8. 1.14.1a PC left switched on for days still learns about a new version: the app looks again every few hours while it runs, and the Check button only comes back as Try again when the server could not be reached.
  9. 1.14.0your PC configuration on My Profile and My PC: every RAM stick, every drive, the board and BIOS, the processor, and the monitor classed as Full HD, 2K or 4K; the bill number on the profile; and what the app tells you to do now reads like a doctor's prescription.
  10. 1.13.0for the shops: their console gained the purchase bill edit, the installer-across-shops view and a logo upload that resizes. Nothing on your PC changed.
  11. 1.12.1the app started announcing a new version by itself, on the home Dashboard and in Settings, with the version named on the button. Nobody has to press Check any more.
  12. 1.12.0the app reads back the blue screens your PC can only show for a few seconds: how many times Windows crashed, when, and what the stop code means in plain words, with its own steps for each kind of crash.
  13. 1.11.0every part of your PC started saying what to do about its problem, not only what is wrong: numbered steps, whether it is something you can do yourself or a job for your engineer, and a button that opens the Windows page where the fix begins. A device missing its driver is told apart from one that is simply switched off, where no driver would help.
  14. 1.10.1My PC Doctor moved to mypcdoctor.bb-ai.in, gained a 32-bit build and Windows Server support, explained the "Error 4551" block that Smart App Control shows on some PCs, and made clear that the activation key box can simply be left empty. Every install includes a free year counted from the day the PC is registered, every PC gets a short PC ID to quote to your engineer, and a month after setup the app quietly asks how it went.
  15. 1.8.2the Dashboard's figures are dials, like a BP or sugar meter: a scale with green, amber and red bands, a needle that sweeps to the reading, and the number in the middle. Storage, memory in use, battery charge and battery health all read at a glance; the bands are the same thresholds the app already judged by.
  16. 1.8.1the Check My PC and Deep Diagnosis reports are a grid of tiles, one per part of your PC, with the parts that need something first and the first of them already open. Green tiles say "All clear" on the tile itself, so there is nothing to scroll through or open; tap any tile to see its details.
  17. 1.8.0a cleaner, calmer app. Every page now starts the same way (where you are, what it does), every part page shows its icon and a face for the verdict, "checking" is a small heartbeat instead of a bare bar, and no page is ever blank before its first check. Press Ctrl+K to jump to any page by typing its name. New: My Profile, where you can keep your name, email, and when and where you bought this PC, for your engineer.
  18. 1.7.0the app updates itself. When a newer version exists the Dashboard (and Settings) shows Update now: it downloads the installer, verifies the published checksum, installs in place and reopens the app; no more downloading this file by hand. Check My PC no longer freezes the window while it runs.
  19. 1.6.0a new look, drawn once and used everywhere. Check My PC reads as a report by part: each part gets a picture of what it is, a line about what it does, and a face that says how it is doing instead of a bare word. The installer shows an ambulance carrying your PC to the PC Hospital as it copies files.
  20. 1.5.0when an expired antivirus is keeping Windows Defender off, Protection Health offers an Uninstall button that starts that product's own uninstaller (its own prompts; nothing deleted by this app). Once a day the app quietly checks for a newer version and shows one line on the Dashboard; nothing is downloaded on its own.
  21. 1.4.0no more activation codes: enter your name and mobile and the PC is registered. Verifying your mobile (a code on WhatsApp) or your engineer's number shows their shop's logo, name and number on the PC. Shops and installers can register on this website.
  22. 1.3.0the Dashboard shows storage, memory and battery as colour bars and your PC's status as a ring with a tick, warning or cross. New: a quiet weekly check that runs with no window and tells you only if it finds a serious problem. Switch it off in Settings any time; uninstalling removes it.
  23. 1.2.0new PC Optimizer section: Protection Health, Cleanup & Startup, opt-in Duplicate Files (one copy always kept, Recycle Bin only), and Windows & Drivers (Windows' own repair, restore points, drivers from Windows Update only). Each asks for your permission. Still not an antivirus.
  24. 1.1.0fixes the blank white window that 1.0.0 showed on first launch (please update if you installed 1.0.0). Service requests show their status and your engineer's note inside the app, and Settings gains "Check for updates" and an "Open log folder" button.
  25. 1.0.0first public release: PC health check, deep diagnosis, gaming readiness and performance tools, safe optimization, driver and BIOS status, support requests to your PC builder's engineer.
Install questions

The ones people actually hit

Does it need administrator rights?
No. It installs for your Windows account only. A few optional repairs — Windows’ own file checker, switching on a Windows protection, adding a firewall rule — ask Windows for permission at the moment you press them, and declining changes nothing.
My antivirus blocked the download or the installer.
Some antivirus products block any unsigned installer from a publisher they have not seen before. Open your antivirus, look for “quarantine” or “blocked items”, and restore the file if you want to continue — or ask your computer shop to install it for you. My PC Doctor never asks you to turn your antivirus off, and it does not need you to.
Which build do I need, 64-bit or 32-bit?
Almost every PC sold in the last ten years runs 64-bit Windows, so take the 64-bit build if you are not sure. The app’s own update check never offers a 32-bit Windows the 64-bit installer.
Do I need an activation key, and how do I get one?
Every PC is activated with a key. Anyone can use the free key MPCD-FREE-MONTH: type it in when the app asks, then verify your email address or your WhatsApp number — either one is enough — and the PC is covered free for a month, with every feature. If you bought the PC from a computer shop, the shop may give you its own key, which covers the PC for as long as the shop decides. After that the shop renews it — the app never shows you a payment link. Nothing you already have is deleted if it lapses; the app opens on a renew screen and your history stays.
How do I update later?
From inside the app. Settings has a manual “Check for updates” that compares versions and links here. It never downloads or installs anything on its own, and it does not check on a timer.
Does it work on Windows Server?
It installs, but Windows Server has no Security Center, so the antivirus list is unavailable and there is no battery card. It is not a tested target — the product is built for Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
